No delay in ST welfare schemes, Karnataka Minister Raghumurthy tells officials

Bengaluru: Karnataka Scheduled Tribes Welfare Minister T. Raghumurthy has directed officials to ensure there is no delay in implementing welfare schemes meant for the Scheduled Tribes community.

On his first day in office, Raghumurthy held a review meeting with senior department officials at Vidhana Soudha on Monday and sought details of ongoing schemes and projects.

The minister instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive report outlining the status of every scheme, pending works and the steps required for their completion.

Focus on education, housing and economic empowerment

Raghumurthy said schemes implemented by the Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department are directly linked to the development and empowerment of weaker sections and therefore must be executed within the stipulated timeframe.

He directed officials to identify pending projects and take immediate steps to complete them without further delay.

The minister stressed the need for greater coordination and faster implementation, particularly in areas such as education, housing, economic empowerment and infrastructure development.

Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department Secretary Kanagavalli, Valmiki Development Corporation Managing Director Ashok Duddaganti, Department Director Ashok and other senior officials attended the meeting.
