New Delhi: Indian Railways has approved the extension of the Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi–Agra Cantt Express (Train Nos. 11901/11902) up to Mathura, a move aimed at improving rail connectivity between Jhansi, Agra and Mathura.
With the extension, Train No. 11901 will now operate from Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi to Mathura, while Train No. 11902 will originate from Mathura for the return journey to Jhansi.
The extension will increase the train’s total route length from 217 km to 270 km.
Train No. 11901 will depart from Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi at 4 pm and reach Mathura at 11 pm.
In the return direction, Train No. 11902 will leave Mathura at 5.05 am and arrive at Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi at 12.50 pm.
Four stations to get commercial halts
As part of the extended service, the train will have commercial stoppages at:
- Raja ki Mandi
- Runkuta
- Deen Dayal Dham
- Baad
The extended service is expected to provide passengers with additional travel options and improve connectivity to intermediate stations along the route.
The move will particularly benefit passengers travelling between Jhansi, Agra and Mathura, while strengthening rail access to the newly added commercial stoppages.
