Bengaluru: Rain is likely to continue across Karnataka’s coastal and Malnad regions over the next few days, even as several districts in North Karnataka continue to face rainfall deficits and drought-like conditions.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), moderate rainfall is expected in several districts, with the coastal belt likely to receive more widespread showers.
Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada are likely to receive moderate rainfall in several areas on September 25. Some parts of the coastal region may continue to experience rain on September 26.
The forecast comes as the coastal districts continue to experience relatively wetter conditions compared with several interior parts of the state.
Rain is also likely in parts of Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Kodagu. The Malnad region has already been experiencing rainy conditions, with showers expected to persist over the coming days.
The IMD has also forecast light rain at isolated places in parts of Haveri, Belagavi, Dharwad and Gadag districts.
The overall forecast indicates continued rainfall activity in the coastal and Malnad belts, while some North Karnataka districts could receive scattered showers.
The contrasting weather pattern comes amid concerns over rainfall deficiency in parts of the state, with authorities continuing to monitor rainfall and agricultural conditions.
