Mumbai, July 2 (IANS) Bollywood star Jackie Shroff took a trip down memory lane as his 1999 romantic drama ‘Hote Hote Pyar Ho Gaya’ completed 27 years on July 2.
Celebrating the milestone, the actor shared a montage featuring stills and memorable moments from the film on his social media account with the hashtag ‘#27YearsOfHoteHotePyaarHoGaya’.
The montage featured Jackie in a formal black suit from one of the film’s iconic scenes, along with a wedding sequence featuring him and co-star Kajol.
The story was accompanied by the title track ‘Hote Hote Pyar Ho Gaya’ sung by Alka Yagnik.
For the uninitiated, the movie ‘Hote Hote Pyar Ho Gaya’ released on July 9, 1999, and was directed by Firoz Irani. It starred Jackie Shroff, Kajol, Ayesha Jhulka, Atul Agnihotri in pivotal roles, alongside Aruna Irani, Tiku Talsania, Prem Chopra and Johnny Lever.
The romantic drama revolved around two strangers who enter into an unexpected marriage under unusual circumstances before gradually falling in love while dealing with family conflicts and misunderstandings.
This was the only movie that starred Jackie Shroff and Kajol together, paired opposite each other.
Jackie, now 69, made his acting debut as a leading man with Subhash Ghai’s 1983 blockbuster ‘Hero’.
Over the decades, he has been part of several successful multi-starrer films, including ‘Tridev’, ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Parinda’, ‘100 Days’, ‘Khalnayak’, ‘Border’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Happy New Year’ amongst others.
On the work front, Jackie was most recently seen in the family entertainer ‘The Great Grand Superhero’, which released on May 29 and received a warm response, particularly from children and family audiences.
On the personal front Jackie is the father of Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff and entrepreneur-fitness influencer Krishna Shroff.
