‘Marathi mulgi’ Sharvari is curious about learning new languages: There is so much for actor to explore

Mumbai, June 5 (IANS) Bollywood actress Sharvari, who is gearing up for her upcoming film ‘Main Vapas Aaunga’, has shared that she is very curious about different languages.

In ‘Main Vapas Aaunga’, Sharvari, who is a Marathi mulgi, essays the role of a woman from Punjab setting her up to learn about a different cultural background.

The actress spoke with IANS during the promotions of the film along with her co-actor Vedang Raina and auteur Imtiaz Ali in Mumbai.

Talking about the cultural and linguistic contrast that she experienced while playing her part, Sharvari told IANS, “I speak Marathi at home. It’s a completely different language. But I really think that languages excite me. Especially because there are so many languages in our country. There is so much for an actor to explore. So much to learn and understand. But even today when I have to listen to music for a scene, I still listen to Marathi music because it’s the language that speaks to me truly”.

“And the words of that language make me feel something most deeply. But saying that I feel like of course being a Maharashtrian has also helped me into more languages. Because all languages somehow are just combined with each other. They are all like a form of each other. And I really enjoyed learning new languages also in this process”, she added.

Meanwhile, ‘Main Vapas Aaunga’ tells the story of the purest form of love set against the backdrop of Partition of India, the largest mass migration in the history of mankind. The film stars Diljit Dosanjh and Naseeruddin Shah. It explores the depth of human connection, this film promises to be an exciting cinematic experience.

Produced by Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment along with Mohit Choudhary, Shibasish Sarkar of Window Seat Films, this Birla Studios Worldwide release will showcase in cinemas on June 12, 2026.
