BENGALURU: The Karnataka CID has intensified its probe into the alleged KPSC veterinary officer recruitment scam, issuing notices to all 329 candidates who appeared in the recruitment process.
The development comes days after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted simultaneous searches at more than 21 locations in connection with alleged irregularities and suspected money transfers linked to the recruitment.
The ED had also searched KPSC premises and questioned several candidates. During the investigation, some candidates are reportedly said to have made statements admitting to irregularities. Based on information gathered by the ED, the CID has now expanded its probe to cover all 329 candidates.
The candidates who received notices have been directed to appear before the CID for questioning. Investigators are expected to examine their role and gather details about the alleged irregularities in the recruitment process.
Meanwhile, the CID has sent 658 OMR carbon sheets, collected from the 329 candidates, to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for examination.
The carbon sheets will be compared with the original OMR answer sheets to determine whether there were discrepancies or other irregularities in the evaluation process.
The CID is expected to question the candidates in detail about the recruitment process and examine the evidence collected during the investigation.
The latest action is likely to provide investigators with further leads into the alleged recruitment scam and help establish whether there was a wider network involved in manipulating the examination or selection process.
