Bidar (Karnataka): Former Union minister and BJP leader Bhagwant Khuba on Monday visited the family of Hindu activist Sudarshan Ratkale in Bhalki and assured them of his support in seeking justice over his death. He demanded a fair investigation and strict action against those found guilty.
Khuba met Ratkale’s parents and other family members, offered condolences and extended moral support. In a post on X, he alleged attempts were being made to cover up the case and shield the accused. These allegations have not been independently verified.
Khuba questioned differing descriptions of the death, alleging that Minister Eshwar Khandre had termed it a suicide, while Khandre’s son and the local MP had described it as an untimely demise. He also criticised Khandre for not visiting the bereaved family.
Khuba later visited Bhalki Town Police Station after receiving reports that individuals involved in the inquest proceedings had allegedly received threatening phone calls. He urged police to register cases against those issuing threats and provide security to the family and witnesses.

Demanding accountability, Khuba said injustice would not be tolerated and called for the guilty to be punished. Former MLA Prakash Khandre and several BJP leaders and party workers were present during the visit.
