Hyderabad, Sep 1 (IANS) The University of London, UK, and Northeastern University, Boston, are set to establish offshore campuses in Hyderabad, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced here on Tuesday.
Taking to X, the Chief Minister said the development marks a significant step towards the state’s vision of transforming Hyderabad into a global knowledge hub. He also revealed that Harvard University and some of its constituent schools have shown keen interest in offering select academic programmes and courses in Telangana.

He exuded confidence that, with educational courses, certification programs, shared research, setting up centres of excellence, and offering programs for professionals of different walks of life, the state government’s pioneering efforts will make Hyderabad a global educational powerhouse.
“I wish to share my sense of pride and happiness with the people of Telangana, especially youth, that our vision to create a Global Knowledge Hub in Hyderabad has been endorsed, supported and will be partnered with the world’s greatest educational institutions,” the Chief Minister said.
He stated that his biggest passion and contribution to youth will be skills, sports and education, making them highly qualified for any global challenge.
“Our meetings with Oxford University, Cambridge University, SOAS (London), Imperial College, London Business School (LBS), London School of Economics have all yielded positive outcomes,” said the Chief Minister, who led a delegation to the UK last month.
“Similarly, our meetings with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and several other Ivy League and American schools have been positive, and our youth will all be able to get education from such global institutions of excellence right here in Hyderabad,” he said.
CM Revanth Reddy returned from the UK on August 24 after the Centre denied him permission to visit the United States.
However, the delegation which accompanied him went ahead with the visit to the United States.
He claimed that his state visit to both the UK and the US was aimed at seeking collaboration with top universities and sports academies and inviting investments. He stated that the visit was also to invite investors to the Invest Telangana Summit scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on December 7, 8 and 9.
