Chennai, April 1 (IANS) With the Tamil Nadu Assembly election campaign gathering pace across the state, M.K. Stalin, president of the DMK and Chief Minister, is set to convene a crucial virtual meeting with party functionaries on April 3 (Friday) to strengthen grassroots coordination ahead of polling.
According to an official communication released by the DMK leadership, the video conference will be held at noon and will connect party executives from all Assembly constituencies across Tamil Nadu.
The meeting is expected to serve as a strategic platform to review campaign preparedness, streamline coordination, and energise party workers at multiple organisational levels.
The party has directed district secretaries to make appropriate arrangements in each constituency to facilitate collective participation in the virtual interaction. Rather than individual logins, cadres have been encouraged to gather at designated venues within their respective constituencies to ensure wider engagement and a unified communication flow from the leadership.
The directive makes it mandatory for key organisational leaders to attend the meeting without fail. This includes district secretaries, party candidates, and functionaries across various tiers such as area, city, union, and circle-level secretaries. In addition, booth-level representatives and local organisers are also expected to be present, underscoring the party’s emphasis on strengthening last-mile connectivity with voters.
Sources within the party indicated that Stalin is likely to use the session to outline the campaign narrative, provide constituency-specific guidance, and reinforce messaging on governance achievements and future promises.
The interaction is also expected to address organisational discipline, voter outreach strategies, and coordination between alliance partners.
The DMK headquarters will share the video conference link with district units ahead of the scheduled meeting. Party insiders said the initiative reflects the leadership’s intent to leverage technology for real-time communication and ensure uniformity in campaign messaging across the state.
As Tamil Nadu heads towards a high-stakes electoral contest, the virtual meet is seen as a significant step in consolidating the DMK’s campaign machinery and mobilising its cadre base effectively in the final stretch before polling.
