New Delhi, July 24 (IANS) Shakti Pumps (India) Limited on Friday reported a sharp 46.7 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit for the April-June quarter (Q1 FY27), as lower operating margins weighed on earnings despite robust growth in revenue.
The company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 51.6 crore for the quarter ended June 30, compared with Rs 96.8 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year (Q1 FY26), according to its stock exchange filing.
Revenue from operations, however, rose 37.9 per cent year-on-year to Rs 859 crore from Rs 623 crore, it added in its filing.
The company’s operating performance weakened significantly, with EBITDA falling 42.3 per cent to Rs 82.9 crore from Rs 144 crore in the year-ago period.
Its EBITDA margin contracted sharply by 1,340 basis points to 9.7 per cent from 23.1 per cent a year earlier, indicating pressure on profitability despite higher sales.
Shares of Shakti Pumps ended the day 1.61 per cent higher at Rs 552 on Friday.
The stock has gained 1.71 per cent over the past five trading sessions but has declined 6.61 per cent over the last month.
Over the past six months, the shares have fallen 10.95 per cent, while on a year-to-date basis, the stock is down 25.33 per cent. In the last one year, the stock has lost nearly 39.8 per cent of its value.
Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, Shakti Pumps is a leading manufacturer of energy-efficient solar pumps, submersible pumps and motors.
The company is a key supplier under the government’s PM-KUSUM scheme and exports its products to more than 100 countries.
Apart from its core pumping solutions business, the company has been expanding into emerging segments such as electric vehicle motors and solar rooftop installations, while continuing to invest in energy-efficient technologies backed by a portfolio of more than 120 global patents.
