Jalore, Aug 31 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Deepak Kumar Devasi has been declared elected unopposed from Ward No. 11 of Bhinmal Municipality in Jalore district after no other candidate filed nomination papers.
Bhinmal Sub-Divisional Officer Ramlal Meena confirmed that Devasi was declared elected unopposed after the nomination process concluded.
Reacting to his unopposed election, Devasi said the people had placed their trust in him, and he would make every effort to live up to their expectations. He had earlier served as the student union president of a local college during the 2019–20 academic session.
The BJP described the victory as an indication of growing public support ahead of the upcoming local body elections. BJP State President Madan Rathore said the win reflected the people’s growing confidence in the party.
He asserted that the BJP was contesting elections on the strength of its workers and public trust, adding that for the party, elections were not merely a means of gaining power but a commitment to public service and regional development.
Rathore said that under Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Rajasthan government was focusing on development, good governance, transparency and public welfare.
He said voters would support the BJP’s agenda in the upcoming civic body elections.
BJP National Secretary and state co-in-charge for the civic body elections Rohan Gupta also welcomed the unopposed victory, claiming the BJP represented “brotherhood, organisation and development”.
He alleged that the Congress was facing internal differences and factionalism.
Gupta said the BJP had completed its ticket distribution process in an organised and transparent manner and expressed confidence that the party would perform strongly across municipal bodies and other local institutions.
He further claimed the BJP would secure a majority in local bodies across Rajasthan and establish a “triple-engine” government.
He said the BJP’s saffron flag would fly high across local bodies and predicted a major defeat for the Congress in the upcoming elections. The BJP state media department added that the party’s campaign would focus on development, good governance and public welfare as the local body elections approach.
