Priyanka Chopra’s mother Dr Madhu Chopra wishes a ‘Heavenly birthday’ to her late husband

Mumbai, Aug 23 (IANS) Actress Priyanka Chopra’s mother, Dr Madhu Chopra, remembered her late husband, Dr Ashok Chopra, on his birth anniversary on Sunday with a nostalgic social media post.

Taking to her official Instagram handle, Dr Madhu Chopra took a trip down memory lane and posted a video compilation of some of her fond memories with her husband and their kids – daughter Priyanka and son Siddharth.

Wishing her husband on his birthday, she wrote, “Heavenly birthday to my husband, my love, and the piece of my heart that I carry with me every day. I wish I could celebrate you here, but I hope you know how deeply you are loved, missed, and remembered (sic).”

For those who do not know, Priyanka’s father, Dr. Ashok Chopra, passed away at the age of 62 on June 10, 2013, in Mumbai after a long battle with cancer. He served as a physician and surgeon in the Indian Army Medical Corps and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Priyanka is also often seen fondly remembering her late father, referring to him as her ‘greatest cheerleader’. Peecee also has a ‘Daddy’s lil girl’ tattoo on her wrist, as a heartfelt tribute to her dad.

Most recently, Priyanka shared a touching moment with her 4‑year‑old daughter Malti Marie on social media. She shared a photograph of her little one standing in front of Dr. Ashok Chopra’s photo with folded hands. It must be noted that Malti never got a chance to meet her grandfather as he had passed away before she was born.

Work-wise, Priyanka has been roped in as the female lead in S.S. Rajamouli’s much-anticipated ‘Varanasi’, which will feature Tollywood heartthrob Mahesh Babu as the protagonist.

PeeCee will essay the role of Mandakini – a fierce historian who will accompany Rudhra (Played by Mahesh Babu) as he embarks on a globetrotting mission to save the holy city of Varanasi from an asteroid named Shambhavi.
