Manasi Srivastava sheds light on one habit that she picked from her ‘Lakshmi Niwas’ character

Mumbai, March 31 (IANS) Actress Manasi Srivastava, who essays the role of Revati in the television show ‘Lakshmi Niwas’, has subconsciously picked a habit of her character from the show.

Revati is a simple, caring homemaker, Revati is someone who finds joy in looking after her family and home. While her warmth is endearing, it is her constant habit of mumbling that has caught the audience’s attention, adding a unique charm to her personality. In fact, in the show, her adorable quirk has even earned her the nickname ‘Gungunati Gauri’ from Dadi, making it a memorable trait for viewers.

Interestingly, this small yet impactful characteristic seamlessly translated into Manasi’s real life as well. To make the portrayal feel completely natural, the actor began mumbling in her everyday life, allowing the behaviour to become instinctive rather than performed.

Talking about the same, Manasi Srivastava told IANS, “Revati is a very simple, warm, and caring woman who finds her happiness in taking care of her home and everyone around her. That’s something I connected with instantly because even in my real life, I enjoy looking after people”.

She further mentioned, “One of her most distinctive traits is that she keeps mumbling to herself while going about her day. Somewhere along the way, I realised I had started doing that in real life too. It just became a part of my rhythm without me even noticing it. I think when something like that happens organically, it reflects very honestly on screen”.

The show continues to strike an emotional chord with viewers through its heartfelt portrayal of middle-class family life, relationships, and the little nuances that make each character feel real and relatable.

She added, “Revati is deeply rooted in her world, her home, her kitchen, and her people, and I relate to that sense of belonging. I’ve tried to bring that comfort and simplicity into the way she speaks and behaves. It’s these little nuances that make her feel real”.

‘Lakshmi Niwas’ airs on Zee TV.
