Bhopal, May 5 (IANS) The Madhya Pradesh police headquarters in Bhopal on Tuesday announced a significant reshuffle of IPS officers, reallocating key responsibilities across various divisions.
The order, issued by the state Director General of Police Kailash Makwana on Tuesday, takes immediate effect and assigns new roles to several police officers from the 2009 to 2016 batches.
According to the directive, Avdhesh Goswami of the 2009 batch, who was serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) at Police Headquarters, has now been appointed as DIG (Welfare/Accounts).
Prashant Khare, also from the 2009 batch, has been given charge as DIG (Crime Investigation Department).
Manish Agrawal, another officer from the same batch, has been assigned as DIG (Training).
Kiranlata Kerketta of the 2010 batch, previously DIG (Women’s Safety), will now serve as DIG (Complaints).
Manoj Kumar Rai, also from the 2010 batch, has been posted as DIG (Selection and Recruitment).
Riaz Iqbal of the 2011 batch has been entrusted with the role of DIG (Administration), while Rahul Kumar Lodha, from the same batch, has been appointed DIG (Special Task Force).
Simala Prasad, another officer of the 2011 batch, has been given charge as DIG (Women’s Safety).
Shivdayal, from the 2012 batch, has been posted as DIG (Arms and Ammunition).
Among the younger officers, Manish Khatri of the 2016 batch has been appointed Assistant Inspector General (Crime Investigation Department), while Ramsharan Prajapati, also from the 2016 batch, has been assigned as Assistant Inspector General (Selection and Recruitment).
The reshuffle reflects the headquarters’ effort to streamline operations and strengthen specialised divisions such as training, welfare, women’s safety, administration, and recruitment.
By placing experienced officers in these roles, the police leadership aims to enhance efficiency and accountability across the force.
The move is seen as part of a broader strategy to ensure effective policing and better coordination within the state’s law enforcement machinery.
This reallocation of responsibilities underscores the Madhya Pradesh Police’s commitment to addressing diverse challenges, from women’s safety to specialised task forces, while preparing the force for future demands.
