Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has expedited the long-pending promotion process in the Revenue Department, promoting 63 Tahsildar Grade-I officers to the Junior Scale of the Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS), Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister G. Parameshwara said.
The decision fulfils a long-standing demand of the officers and recognises their service and experience, he said.
Emphasising the importance of an efficient Revenue Department in maintaining land records, delivering public services and addressing grievances, Parameshwara urged the newly promoted officers to discharge their enhanced responsibilities with dedication and integrity.
He said the promotions should translate into improved public service, with officers ensuring transparency, efficiency and timely delivery of government services.

Recognising the contributions of committed and efficient officers would also inspire others to earn public trust and make service to citizens their priority, he said.
Parameshwara noted that the government was taking steps to support the professional growth of officers and employees at various levels of the Revenue Department while strengthening the administrative system.
He stressed that professional development and quality public service must go hand in hand to build a responsive, citizen-friendly administration.
The minister called upon the promoted officers to address public grievances promptly, implement government programmes effectively and uphold the ideals enshrined in the Constitution.
The promotion process, which had remained pending for a long time, has now been completed for the 63 officers, according to the minister.
