Udupi: A large protest march and public meeting were held in Byndoor to condemn alleged recurring cattle theft in areas surrounding temples and demand strict action against those involved in cattle slaughter and theft.
The march was organised by the Byndoor taluk unit of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike and Hindu Samrakshana Samiti, Chittur, with participants seeking stronger measures to prevent cattle theft and protect cattle.
The procession began at Chittur Circle and proceeded towards the Sri Brahmalingeshwara shrine at Maranakatte. Participants raised slogans calling for cattle protection and demanded stringent action in cases involving cattle theft and slaughter.
