Gujarat CM to meet top industrialists, Consul generals in Mumbai ahead of VGGS 2027

Gandhinagar/Mumbai, Sep 2 (IANS) Gujarat will take its investment pitch for the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2027 to Mumbai on Thursday, with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi scheduled to meet leading industrialists and consul generals as the state steps up outreach ahead of the summit.

The roadshow will be held at The Taj Mahal Palace in Colaba on September 3, following the New Delhi curtain-raiser held on August 31.

The 11th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is scheduled to be held in Gandhinagar from January 10 to 12, 2027, under the theme “Viksit Gujarat – Shaping Global Future”.

The Mumbai programme will include an interaction with consul generals and industry leaders, which will be addressed by CM Patel and Deputy CM Sanghavi.

The event will begin with a welcome address by R. Mukundan, National President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), followed by a presentation on VGGS 2027 by Mamta Verma, the Additional Chief Secretary of Gujarat’s Industries and Mines Department.

Leading industrialists are also expected to share their experiences of doing business in Gujarat, after which the Chief Secretary of Gujarat Manoj Kumar Das will address the gathering.

Ahead of the main interaction, CM Patel is scheduled to hold one-to-one meetings with senior representatives of companies and business groups, including Reliance Industries, Tata Trusts, Mahindra Group, AM/NS India, STT Global Data Centres India, Godrej Industries, ASSA ABLOY, Cipla, Sun Pharma, Larsen and Toubro, RPG Enterprises, Piramal Group, K Raheja Group, Aditya Birla Group, Nayara Energy, Chemtrols Industries, Lotte India, Swan Corp, Colt Data Centre Holdings, Batliboi, Blue Star India, Abbott Nutrition, Arabelle Solutions, Rossari Biotech, and Grindwell Norton and Saint-Gobain.

The meetings will cover a wide range of sectors, including advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, health and wellness, IT and financial services, green energy, oil and energy, biotechnology, real estate, abrasives, industrial automation, heavy engineering and petroleum.

A roundtable with young entrepreneurs is also planned, focusing on the Vibrant Gujarat Summit and opportunities available in the state.

The discussions are expected to focus on investment opportunities, expansion plans and potential strategic partnerships.

Gujarat will also present its industrial ecosystem, infrastructure and sector-specific policies as part of its outreach to businesses ahead of the 2027 summit.

The Mumbai roadshow comes days after the New Delhi curtain-raiser, where Gujarat invited domestic and international investors to participate in the summit and highlighted opportunities in manufacturing, emerging technologies and green energy.

The state has also identified sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, fintech and green hydrogen as areas of focus for VGGS 2027.

The New Delhi outreach also included meetings with foreign diplomatic representatives, with Chief Minister Patel urging overseas companies to explore investment opportunities in Gujarat and highlighting sectors, including semiconductors, electronics, renewable energy, electric vehicles, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, textiles, aerospace and defence.
