The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India had filed a formal complaint with the Modinagar police station in this regard.
The incident was reported to PETA India by a resident who saw a video of the killing on YouTube.
PETA India’s Cruelty Response Team spent days tracing the accused and worked with the Ghaziabad police to identify him.
PETA India Cruelty Response Coordinator Sunayana Basu, said: “Those who abuse animals often move on to harming humans. It is imperative that members of the public report cases of cruelty to animals such as this one for everyone’s safety.”
