Assam lights ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ for PM Modi’s birthday

Guwahati, Sep 17 (IANS) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday shared glimpses of statewide celebrations marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, highlighting the participation of people across towns and villages in honouring the Prime Minister.

In a series of posts on social media platform X, CM Sarma said that people across Assam came together to light the “Ashirwad Ka Diya” and extend their greetings and blessings to PM Modi on his birthday.

“Today the people of Assam, rose in unison, in towns and villages across the state, to light the #AshirwadKaDiya and shower our beloved Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji with love and blessings on his birthday,” the Chief Minister added.

He shared photographs from Dhekiajuli, Jagiroad, Nalbari and Gohpur, showcasing the celebrations held in different parts of the state.

He also posted additional glimpses from Morigaon, Raha, Duliajan and Doomdooma, describing the images as a reflection of the affection and blessings that the people of Assam hold for the Prime Minister.

“These glimpses reflect the love and blessings that the people of Assam hold for Adarniya Modi ji. These are pictures from Morigaon, Raha, Duliajan and Doomdooma,” CM Sarma said in another post on X.

In a subsequent update, the Chief Minister shared visuals from Bokakhat, Tingkhang, Golaghat and Majuli, saying that the spirit of the celebrations continued across the state.

“The spirit continued to glow bright! More glimpses from Bokakhat, Tingkhang, Golaghat and Majuli where thousands came together this evening,” he said.

The coordinated celebrations were held as part of the birthday observances for PM Modi, with people participating in events across multiple districts in the state.

The Chief Minister’s posts highlighted the scale and geographic spread of the activities, covering locations in Upper Assam, central Assam and other parts of the state.

The “Ashirwad Ka Diya” initiative, as referenced by Chief Minister Sarma, centred on lighting lamps as a symbolic gesture of goodwill and blessings for the Prime Minister.

Through his social media posts, the Chief Minister documented the participation of residents from urban and rural areas, underlining the public celebrations organised across Assam on the occasion.
