Railways approves ₹125 crore Bhavnagar Para yard revamp project in Gujarat

New Delhi: Indian Railways has sanctioned a ₹125-crore Bhavnagar Para Yard Remodeling project in Gujarat to decongest Bhavnagar Terminus, improve train operations and enhance passenger facilities.

The project will create additional operational capacity at Bhavnagar Para (BVP) by shifting stabling and other operational activities from Bhavnagar Terminus. This is expected to reduce rake detention, improve train punctuality and provide greater flexibility in managing train movements.

The yard remodeling will include four loop lines, an engine reversal line, ART and ARME sidings, along with the relocation of the station and EI building.

The project also provides for a new high-level passenger platform, widening of the existing platform, extension of the existing foot overbridge (FOB) and construction of another FOB.

Two road under bridges (RUBs) will also be developed, including one new RUB and the extension of an existing one. Service buildings and associated electrical and signalling infrastructure will form part of the project.

At Bhavnagar Para station, passengers are expected to benefit from a new high-level island platform, wider Platform No. 2 and improved FOB connectivity.

The Railways said the project will strengthen railway infrastructure in Bhavnagar while easing pressure on Bhavnagar Terminus. The additional capacity and upgraded passenger facilities are expected to support smoother train operations and better connectivity for passengers travelling to and from Bhavnagar and neighbouring areas.
