3 years of Gruha Lakshmi scheme: ‘More strength to women’s empowerment,’ says DK Shivakumar

Bengaluru: Karnataka’s flagship Gruha Lakshmi scheme has completed three years, marking another milestone in the state government’s women-centric welfare initiatives, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said.

Reacting on social media, Shivakumar said the scheme has provided financial assistance to women from more than 1.2 crore families across Karnataka, while also helping boost their self-esteem and confidence.

‘Not just financial assistance, but support for women’

Shivakumar said Gruha Lakshmi should not be viewed merely as a government benefit, describing it as a form of support aimed at helping women lead more secure and peaceful lives.

“This is not just a government facility. It is the support of love that the government is providing for the peaceful life of women,” he said.

The Deputy Chief Minister also appealed to Gruha Lakshmi beneficiaries to cooperate with members of the government’s Guarantee Committee when they visit their homes.

He urged beneficiaries to provide the required documents and information during the visits, as requested by the officials.

Shivakumar expressed confidence that the scheme would continue to contribute to the economic empowerment of women and strengthen their role in the financial well-being of their families.
