New Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS) Enterprise software startup Whatfix’s co-founder and CEO Khadim Batti has passed away after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest, leaving India’s SaaS and startup ecosystem deeply saddened.
Whatfix confirmed Batti’s death in an official statement on Monday, saying the entrepreneur’s unexpected passing was a major loss for the organisation. The company also requested the media and public to respect the privacy of Batti’s family during the difficult time.
“It is with deep sorrow that we confirm the unexpected passing of our beloved co-founder and CEO, Khadim Batti, who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest today,” Whatfix said.
Describing Batti as a visionary leader who made a transformative contribution to the global enterprise SaaS landscape, the company said his passion, clarity and conviction shaped Whatfix as well as the lives of people who worked with him or knew him.
“His legacy lies in the resilient organisation and deeply committed leadership team he built,” the company said, adding that its leadership team remained steadfast in carrying forward his vision and values.
Batti co-founded Whatfix with Vara Kumar Namburu in 2014. Headquartered in Bengaluru, the company developed a digital adoption platform that helps enterprises improve how employees use software and navigate digital tools. Under Batti’s leadership, Whatfix evolved into a global enterprise software company with a growing presence across international markets.
His influence extended beyond Whatfix, with Batti playing an active role in India’s rapidly expanding SaaS and artificial intelligence communities. He was a member of the governing council of SaaSBoomi and among the founding members of AIBoomi, a community focused on India’s AI-first product ecosystem.
Avinash Raghava, CEO and founding volunteer at SaaSBoomi and a key member of the AIBoomi community, expressed shock and grief over Batti’s death.
Raghava said Batti had been an important part of the AIBoomi community as well as the wider SaaS and AI ecosystem in India. He recalled Batti as someone who was widely respected by founders and industry peers and who was always willing to share his experience and time.
Beyond his achievements at Whatfix, Raghava remembered Batti as “a wonderful friend” and “a generous mentor” who consistently made time for founders and members of the startup community.
Batti began his entrepreneurial journey in 2010. Before establishing Whatfix, he worked as Delivery Head for DPI & BI Solutions at Huawei Technologies India. He later co-founded SearchEnabler, where he served as CEO, before launching Whatfix.
With more than two decades of experience across software development, product innovation and business leadership, Batti emerged as a prominent figure in India’s technology and enterprise software ecosystem.
He held a Master’s degree in Information Technology from the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bombay.
