Policy stability, transparency and speed are key to attracting investment: Gujarat CM

New Delhi, Aug 31 (IANS) Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday said that policy stability, transparent decision-making and swift governance had established the state as a conducive destination for investment, as he invited global investors to partner in building a ‘Viksit Gujarat’ for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.

Addressing the curtain-raiser of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2027 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Patel said the summit, initiated in 2003 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, had evolved into a symbol of global investors’ trust in Gujarat and a platform for sharing knowledge and experience.

The main summit is scheduled to be held from January 10 to 12, 2027. “Policy stability, transparency and speed attract investment,” Patel said, highlighting the ecosystem developed in Gujarat around these principles.

He said the state’s investment environment offered more than land and infrastructure, with policy stability, skilled manpower, trust and security also forming its foundation.

“The Vibrant Gujarat initiative reflected 25 years of continuous development and had helped position Gujarat not only as an investment destination but also as a growth engine for the country,” he said.

Referring to the Prime Minister’s leadership, he said Gujarat had witnessed the transformation of ambitious ideas into reality and had translated the principle of “Je Kehvu Te Karvu” into action through the summit.

“Gujarat’s development model, centred on ‘Development with Delivery’, extended beyond roads, electricity, water and industrial infrastructure,” he said.

He said the state, having established its capabilities in traditional industries, is now preparing to take a leading role in future-oriented sectors. VGGS-2027, to be held with the theme “Viksit Gujarat – Shaping Global Future”, will focus on emerging areas including semiconductors, fintech, green hydrogen, artificial intelligence, soft power and green growth.

Patel also linked the upcoming summit with the seven development streams, or Saptadhara, outlined by the Prime Minister on Independence Day.

“Gujarat would use VGGS-2027 to bring together its strengths in manufacturing and diamonds, agriculture, technology, Gati Shakti, defence manufacturing, the green and blue economies and cultural soft power,” he said.

The Chief Minister urged investors and business leaders to make their investments drivers of development, create employment through industry and strengthen India’s innovation capabilities.
