Hyderabad, Dec 9 (IANS) The property dispute in the family of veteran Tollywood actor Mohan Babu took a serious turn as he complained to police against his actor son Manchu Manoj and sought police protection on Monday, a few hours after Manoj lodged a complaint that unidentified miscreants assaulted him on Sunday.
Mohan Babu complained to Rachakonda Commissioner that his younger son Manoj along with some anti-social elements employed by him caused a disturbance on Sunday at his house ‘Manchu Town’ in Jalpally in Rangareddy district.
The senior actor sought protection to himself and his properties saying there was a threat from Manoj, his wife, and anti-social elements.
Mohan Babu wrote that on Monday he noticed unfamiliar individuals stationed near his house while one of the employees at his office in Madhapur informed him that about 30 individuals claiming to be associates of Manoj trespassed.
“They threatened my staff with dire consequences, evicted them from the property and declared that no one could enter the house without their permission,” said Mohan Babu, a former Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament.
Mohan Babu stated that these individuals illegally occupied his house under the instructions of Manoj and Mounika.
“I fear for my safety, my valuables and my property. I have been informed that these individuals are waiting for me to return to my house with the intent to harm me and instill fear, compelling me to abandon my residence permanently,” reads the complaint.
The veteran actor wrote that he is a senior citizen aged about 78 years and ‘their actions, supported by hired individuals, pose a grave threat to my life and property’.
Mohan Babu demanded legal action against Manoj, Monika and their associates. He also urged the police to evict them from his property.
“Provide me with adequate protection to ensure my safety and allow me to access my home without fear,” said the veteran actor, who runs a chain of educational institutions including Mohan Babu University.
Earlier, Manchu Manoj lodged a complaint with police but did not name his father or any other family member.
In his complaint to Pahadi Shareef Police Station, he stated that around 10 unidentified miscreants attacked him at his house at Jalpally. He named two persons who took away the CCTV footage of the attack.
Police said they recorded the statement of Manoj on the basis of his complaint and took up investigation.
Manoj Sunday visited a hospital in Banjara Hills for treatment of his injuries amid reports of a fight with his father.
After the medical examination, he returned home. According to the medico legal record, Manoj sustained multiple injuries on neck, right thigh and abdomen.
Both Manoj and Mohan Babu reported to have complained against each other to police over dial 100. The police had advised them to lodge complaints in writing.
Manoj on Monday personally went to Pahadi Shareef Police Station and lodged a complaint. He also presented medico legal record to the Station House Officer.
