Hemant Soren takes monsoon drive to Jonha Falls, showcases Jharkhand’s scenic charm in viral reel

Ranchi, June 28 (IANS) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren sought to offer a relaxed outlook on Sunday as he drove to the picturesque Jonha Falls, around 50 km from Ranchi, celebrating the state’s breathtaking natural beauty.

Accompanying the Chief Minister on the trip was his wife and MLA Kalpana Soren.

The Chief Minister was seen enjoying the scenic drive through rain-swept landscapes, sharing videos and photographs from the journey on social media.

The visuals, featuring Soren behind the wheel and humming to music, quickly gained traction online and drew widespread attention.

Upon reaching Jonha Falls, one of Jharkhand’s most popular tourist destinations, Soren spent time soaking in the lush surroundings, interacting with visitors and locals, and relishing seasonal fruits sold in the area.

Sharing his experience on social media, the Chief Minister wrote: “Today, I had the opportunity to spend a few moments amidst the lush valleys of Jonha Falls, located just a short distance from Ranchi. I also enjoyed the fruits there and had conversations with the local people.”

“The pristine streams flowing in the lap of nature, the greenery of dense forests, and the serene beauty of the mountains repeatedly remind us that Jharkhand is nature’s unparalleled gift. This is our shared heritage, which we all have the collective responsibility to preserve and protect. No matter which corner of Jharkhand you visit, nature will welcome you in its varied hues. A hearty welcome to all tourists on this unparalleled land of Jharkhand, Johar,” he added.

The Chief Minister also shared a reel from Jonha Falls set to the popular regional song “Hamar Sona Jharkhand, Hamar Heera Jharkhand”.

In the video, Soren is seen admiring the surroundings and telling viewers: “How does it feel? These forests, these valleys — this is our Jharkhand.”

Captioning the reel, he wrote: “Here, forests are life, waterfalls are music, and Jharkhand nestled in the lap of greenery is truly unparalleled.”

This is not the first time Soren has been seen connecting with people beyond official engagements.

On several occasions in the past, he has chosen to drive himself to destinations across the state, interacting informally with residents and highlighting Jharkhand’s cultural and natural attractions through his personal social media outreach.
