Census 2027: Rajasthan CM Sharma participates in self-enumeration

Jaipur, May 1 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma, on Thursday participated in the self-enumeration process launched under Census 2027, setting an example for citizens across the state.

Accessing the official portal, he filled in his personal details and successfully submitted the required information online, appealing to citizens to join the nation-building exercise.

Encouraging widespread public participation, the Chief Minister described Census 2027 as a crucial step towards strengthening governance and planning.

He emphasised that accurate and comprehensive data collection would play a vital role in shaping policies and ensuring effective delivery of welfare schemes.

Highlighting the broader vision, Sharma said the exercise aligns with the national goals of Digital India and ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.

He urged citizens to actively take part in this large-scale initiative. “I appeal to every resident of the state to participate in this important campaign and extend full cooperation to make it successful. Census 2027 is not merely a data collection exercise, but a significant step in nation-building,” he said.

Officials informed that the self-enumeration facility will remain available from May 1 to May 15, allowing citizens to conveniently submit their details online.

This digital option is expected to enhance accuracy, reduce manual effort, and streamline the overall census process. Following this phase, enumerators will begin door-to-door visits across Rajasthan from May 16 as part of the first phase of the Census operation.

During this stage, house listing and housing enumeration activities will be carried out to gather detailed information at the household level. The state government has made necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth and efficient process, combining digital tools with on-ground verification.

Citizens are encouraged to make use of the self-enumeration facility within the stipulated timeframe and contribute to building a reliable national database.
