Sahil Anand asks ‘Why can’t cow also be our National Animal?’ after his ‘Godaan’ experience

Mumbai, Feb 18 (IANS) Actor Sahil Anand revealed that working with a baby cow in his latest project "Godaan" left a lasting emotional impact on him.

He shared that what began as a professional commitment gradually turned into a meaningful journey of reflection and connection.

While working with the animal for weeks, Sahil discovered a “quiet strength” in their presence.

Talking about the same, he shared, “There is something incredibly calming about them. They are gentle, patient, and full of silent love. They don’t demand attention, yet their presence is deeply comforting."

Sahil said that for him, the cow emerged as a symbol of resilience wrapped in softness. He described them as "a being that gives endlessly without seeking recognition."

Reflecting on the longstanding cultural and spiritual relevance of cows in the country, he added, "For centuries, cows have been closely associated with nurturing energy, sustainability, and agricultural support. From contributing to rural livelihoods to holding sacred significance for millions, their role in Indian society remains profound."

Addressing the broader symbolism of animals in national identity, Sahil clarified that his reflections are not about replacing India’s national animal, the Bengal tiger, which represents strength and pride.

Instead, he poses a thoughtful question about expanding the idea of honour.

“Strength can be fierce like a tiger, but it can also be calm and giving like a cow,” he went on to explain.

Previously, Sahil spoke about the various challenges they faced while shooting with a cow in "Godaan".

He revealed that some of the scenes took an extraordinary amount of time to shoot, as one was not able to control how the animal would behave.

“Sometimes it took 20 takes or even hours just to get one expression or a simple look. There were moments when she wouldn’t look at me at all, she would just run away or get distracted,” he recalled.

Sunny Leone reveals why she was in disbelief about the Anurag Kashyap directorial ‘Kennedy’

Mumbai, Feb 18 (IANS) Actress Sunny Leone, who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming streaming film ‘Kennedy’, has shared that she was in disbelief about being part of the film until the day she walked into the set.

The actress shared that despite attending the trials and the workshops for the Anurag Kashyap directorial, she felt that she isn’t going to be a part of the film.

The actress said, “My first reaction was disbelief that I had been offered the role. I didn’t 1,000% believe I was part of the film until I actually got on set. Even though I did the trials and the workshops, and everything happened, we all know entertainment is very volatile and things can change at the drop of a dime. I was so happy when the first shot was taken and we moved on to the next. That’s when I felt, ‘Alright, now they won’t replace me, I think I did a good job”.

When asked about that scene that emotionally stayed with her long after pack-up, she said, “I think the scene that stayed with me is when Charlie is in a hotel room waiting for the officer. She’s scared, upset, and doesn’t want to be there, but she knows what’s going to happen. That transition from her in the bathroom to putting that Charlie smile on her face is something I believe a lot of us can relate to. Sometimes we have to go through situations where we put on a smile just to move on with the day, night, or moment and that’s not always easy”.

“I love this type of film. There are so many different layers to it. It makes you think and is provocative in a thoughtful way. It really makes you listen to the words and the dialogues in the film - what people are talking about and how that relates to my world. That’s what’s so amazing about shooting in this noir universe”, she added.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, ‘Kennedy’ also stars Rahul Bhat. The film is set to stream on ZEE5 from February 20, 2026.

Madhuri Dixit recalls her first memory of Jackie Shroff & Anil Kapoor on the set of ‘Karma’

Mumbai, Feb 18 (IANS) Bringing in the 90s sparkle, Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff graced the latest episode of the Netflix show "The Great Indian Kapil Show S4".

Turning the couch into a time machine, Madhuri recalled her very first memory of seeing Jaggu Dada on the sets of the 1986 drama "Karma". She shared that they were shooting a song at the time, with Anil Kapoor also around.

Madhuri couldn't help but laugh as she remembered how both Jackie and Anil were glancing her way in the middle of the shoot, making the moment impossible for her to forget.

Jumping on the opportunity to take a dig at the 'Hero' actor, host Kapil Sharma asked him, “Dada aap apni Rehearsal chhod ke inka dance kyu dekhte the? (Dada, why would you watch her dance in the middle of your ownrehearsall?)”

Jaggu Dada, with his peak bhidu swag, dropped the mic line “Kabhi kabhi bhidu, apne aap ko bhulna padta hai."

Adding a message, along with the masti, Jaggu Dada stressed the importance of planting trees, saying that trees almost speak to us.

“Bhai, mereko sambhal toh main tereko sambhalu bhai.” And when the audience burst into applause, he added with a grin, “Taali mat maar… jaake ek khud laga!”.

Madhuri further joked that after doing so many romantic films, she is now capable of romancing "even a pathar", proving she’s forever Bollywood’s romance queen.

Sunil Grover as Diamond Raja also hinted at his next big musical dhamaka, teasing what looks like his upcoming hit in the making.

Additionally, Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda as the exaggerated versions of Jaggu Dada and “Madhuri Fixit,” effectively turned the iconic 90s romance into full parody madness.

Providing a glimpse of the fun-filled episode of "The Great Indian Kapil Show S4", the makers wrote on social media, "Arey bhidu log sambhal ke, ye episode full dhak-dhak mode pe hai...Watch Madhuri Dixit & Jackie Shroff bring nostalgia on The Great Indian Kapil Show on 21st February, at 8 PM, only on Netflix.
