Kate Winslet returns to shoot post injury

Los Angeles, Sep 20 (IANS) Actress Kate Winslet has returned to work after being injured on a film set in Croatia.

The 46-year-old actress was pictured getting back into character today after she was reportedly rushed to the hospital over the weekend, reports mirror.co.uk.

She appeared to be in good spirits as she donned a khaki cargo jumpsuit on the set of her new movie Lee - which is being shot in the village of Kupari.

New pictures show her surrounded by crew as she wore a US military outfit - sporting a make-up free look.

Only yesterday, a news outlet in Croatia published pictures of the actress arriving at the hospital.

In the pictures, she was surrounded by many other people as she made her way in.

She walked into Dubrovnik Hospital wearing black clothes and a face mask. She is said to have arrived at the hospital, which is around 15 minutes from the set, in a black van.

Her new film follows World War II correspondent Lee Miller's life, portrayed by Kate, and also stars Jude Law and Marion Cotillard.

The injury ordeal comes after Kate previously discussed how she learned an incredible underwater 'superpower' for her role in the new 'Avatar: The Way Of Water'.

The star, who is no stranger to being in bodies of water for a long period of time in movies, learned how to hold her breath for a shocking number of minutes.

Speaking to Empire about her role as Ronal, a free diver of the Metkayina, the 46-year-old said that she learned how to hold her breath in a 900,000-gallon water tank for longer than any other cast member.

"Seven minutes and 14 seconds, baby!" she told the publication.

"The most amazing thing for me as a middle-aged woman was to learn something not just new, but superhuman!"

‘What’s Love Got To Do With It?’: Shekhar Kapoor’s ode to cross-cultural love

Toronto, Sep 19 (IANS) Elizabeth director Shekhar Kapoor's first rom-com 'What's Got Love to Do With It?', which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival here this week, is somewhat reminiscent of the two highly talked about films of similar genre - 'East is East' (1999) and 'West is West' (2010).

These movies have the same template - generational change in identity among the South Asian diaspora in the West, cross-cultural marriages and intergenerational conflicts.

Jemima Khan, the former wife of former Pakistani cricketer and prime minister Imran Khan, subtly weaves into the script her own personal experiences of her multicultural marriage and living in Pakistan.

"I lived in Pakistan for 10 years. I went there when I was 20 and I came back when I was 30. And I went with, I suppose, some sort of preconceived ideas about arranged marriages. I ended up seeing lots of really happy arranged marriages, including my ex-husband's niece, who was living in the same house with us and whose arranged marriage I watched up very close when she was in the selection process. I came back to England and saw some of my friends kind of struggling," Jemima said at the premiere of the movie.

The talented cast of Lily James, Shazad Latif, Emma Thompson and Shabana Azmi allow Kapoor to deftly create a great rom-com experience on the big screen. The scenes shift between Britain and Pakistan as the story unfolds.

Zoe (played by Lily James) and Kazim (Shazad Latif) grow up in the same neighbourhood in London and their paths meet regularly. But their home lives are worlds apart.

Living with her divorced mother Cath (played by Emma Thompson), Zoe grows into a typical independent girl who chooses to become a filmmaker. On the other hand, Kazim is raised to observe his Islamic faith at home and be like anyone else in the secular British society. As is typical with South Asian families in the West, Kazim chooses to become a doctor.

Not surprisingly, Zoe is taken aback when Kazim tells her he is going for an 'assisted' marriage to a girl from Pakistan. Since their two families are close social friends, Zoe finds an opportunity in Kazim's marriage in Pakistan for her next documentary.

In Lahore, the grand, colourful scenes of the couple's pre-wedding ceremonies are a visual treat. In between performing these ceremonies, Kazim disappears with Zoe. In one of their one-on-one conversations, Zoey says how can you marry someone whom you don't know?

"Everybody is pretending," she says. That's it. Kazim calls off the wedding.

What unfolds next is expected as the two London neighbours have been close friends since childhood.

Kanye West compares himself to Moses

Los Angeles, Sep 19 (IANS) Rapper Kanye West has compared himself to Moses after deleting all his Instagram posts.

The rapper took to his Instagram Stories on Sunday to seemingly compare himself to the Bible's Moses, reports mirror.co.uk.

"No one asked Moses how much he slept," he wrote in white text over a black background.

He first shared the text with a typo before deleting it and resharing it with the corrected text.

It comes after Ye launched his own private school which aims to "prepare students to become the next generation of leaders, thinkers and innovators".

The 45-year-old is understood to be behind Donda Academy, which is a tuition-based Christian prep school that is said to charge around $15,000 per year.

The institution, said to be based in California, promises a "world-class education," according to its website, which involves worship, science classes, choir and even parkour.

Sources told Rolling Stone magazine that families have to sign non-disclosure agreements, though a consultant for the school has told the outlet that only parents sign it and they described such as an "informal agreement".

According to the school's website, the daily schedule includes "full school worship," core classes of language arts, mathematics and science, as well as "enrichment courses".

It provides examples of such courses, including world language, visual art, film and choir. The athletic training discipline Parkour is listed as another example of such.

However, despite opening a learning institution, the Runaway rapper said he doesn't like reading books.

"When you said I hadn't read this book, I actually haven't read any book," he explained in an interview with the Alo Mind Full podcast.

"Reading is like eating Brussels sprouts for me. And talking is like getting the Giorgio Baldi corn ravioli."

The star, who is known for his endless rants, recently admitted that his former-wife Kim Kardashian raises their children '80 percent of the time'.

Cameron Diaz says acting feels ‘different’ after taking a break

Los Angeles, Sep 19 (IANS) After eight years away from Hollywood, actress Cameron Diaz opened up about her upcoming Netflix movie 'Back in Action', saying that she was "both" nervous and excited about getting back in front of the camera.

"It's a little bit of muscle memory, you know what I mean?" she explained during a September 16 appearance on 'The Tonight Show' starring Jimmy Fallon.

"I did that for so long, it's kind of like the process, I kind of just fell back into it. But it feels a little bit different."

She also gushed how it was "amazing" to return to acting alongside Jamie Foxx, with whom she previously appeared in the 1999 sports drama Any Given Sunday and the 2014 remake of the musical 'Annie'.

"The last movie I made was Annie with Jamie, and so the first movie back is this film with Jamie," she said. "He's so great, he's so easy, he's so professional, he's so talented, and just being able to work with him."

She added, "It will be so much fun."

Jamie, who Cameron describes "like a racehorse" -- serves as both her co-star and executive producer on Back in Action, which begins production later this year, reports eonline.com.

Last month, the Oscar winner revealed how he convinced the actress to come out of retirement for the film, saying it involved some good old-fashioned begging.

"We just begged and pleased on my knees, like, 'Just give the people one more again,'" Jamie exclusively told E! News' Daily Pop in August.

"We love her, we've been waiting on her and this is just gonna be fantastic."

During her break from acting, Cameron married Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden in 2015 and welcomed daughter Raddix in 2019.

In an episode of In Goop Health: The Sessions, the Charlie's Angels star opened up about her decision to retire at what was seemingly the height of her career, explaining to host Gwyneth Paltrow that she never made "any space for (her) personal life."

Moreover, Cameron said that her life in the spotlight was draining, something that Gwyneth said she could "understand."

"It's so intense to work at that level and be that public and put yourself out there," she continued. "There's a lot of energy coming at you at all times when you're really visible as an actor and doing press and putting yourself out there.

When Gwyneth asked what it felt like to leave that past behind, Cameron responded, "Like peace. A peace in my soul because I was finally taking care of myself."
