Only Samjawadi Party can defeat BJP, brags MP Awadhesh Prasad

Ayodhya, Oct 5 (IANS) Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad said on Tuesday, that the only party that can defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party is Samajwadi Party, and the only leader who could do it, was the party supremo and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Speaking to IANS, Prasad said, “It has become completely clear that if there is any party in India capable of keeping the Bharatiya Janata Party away from power, there is only one party, and that is the Samajwadi Party. There is only one leader, Akhilesh Yadav. Apart from him, there is no other party or leader in the country who can defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party,” he said.

“It could be that they work with the BJP; even then, SP and the INDI alliance will form a government in Uttar Pradesh,” he added.

Speaking about the seat sharing among members of the INDI alliance, he said, “There is neither any difficulty nor any uneasiness of any kind regarding the seat-sharing. If there is any uneasiness, it is with the Bharatiya Janata Party. There is no uneasiness on our side.”

“The INDI alliance stands firm like a solid rock, and our leader Akhilesh Yadav is fully capable of deciding the seat-sharing arrangement. If a government is formed, it will be based on the number of seats we win. I feel everyone will agree to that; there is no conflict,” he added.

Prasad said that nearly thousands of SP workers and supporters will be ‘marching’ throughout the Uttar Pradesh, demanding the resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar on Tuesday. He added that they will also conduct a march in Delhi on Wednesday from Parliament’s Makar Dwar to the Election Commission, under the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav.

“Democracy is in danger. The only way one could measure how strong a nation is, how strong the democracy is, is from how free the Election Commission of that country is, how transparent and honest the Election Commission is. The Election Commission is neither honest nor transparent. It is a very big danger to the democracy,” he said.
