Delhi Police apprehends woman drug peddler with 112.32 grams of heroin

New Delhi, May 30 (IANS) The Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of Delhi Police’s South District has apprehended a “notorious female drug peddler involved in supply of synthetic drug smack/heroin” and recovered over 112 grams of heroin from her possession, according to an official Press release issued on Saturday.

As per the Press note, the operation led to the arrest of Meena (Meenu), a habitual offender who had recently been released on bail in another NDPS case earlier this month. The police said the accused had “again indulged in drug peddling activities” despite her recent release from jail.

According to the Press release, “Total 112.32 grams of smack/heroin were recovered from her possession.” It further stated that the accused had been under surveillance following credible inputs regarding drug suppliers active in South Delhi and adjoining areas.

The police said that, acting on specific information, a trap was laid near Tyagraj Stadium in INA Colony, where the accused was intercepted while attempting to deliver narcotics. During search proceedings under the NDPS Act, the recovered substance tested positive for heroin/smack using a Narcotic Field Testing Kit.

The Press release added that the accused “had recently come out on bail in an NDPS case on 06.05.2026 and again indulged in drug peddling activities.”

A case has been registered under FIR No. 106/2026 under Section 21 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Kotla Mubarak Pur, and further investigation is underway to trace backwards and forward linkages in the drug network.

The accused, identified as Meena (Meenu), aged 40, is a resident of Kishanganj, Karol Bagh in Delhi. Police said she “operates as a supplier of synthetic drugs and was supplying contraband to local consumers and peddlers in Delhi.” Two mobile phones were also recovered from her possession.

The Press release noted that she has prior involvement in NDPS cases registered at PS DBG Road and PS Inderpuri.

The operation was carried out by a team led by Inspector Umesh Yadav under the supervision of Arvind Kumar, Additional DCP (Operations), South District. DCP South District Anant Mittal, IPS, appreciated the efforts of the team in successfully apprehending the accused and dismantling part of the drug supply chain.
