Bengaluru: The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced President’s Police Medals for 17 Karnataka Police officers and personnel on the occasion of Independence Day.
Of the 17 recipients, 16 have been selected for the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service for their distinguished service in the police department. The recipients include Railways Bengaluru SP Sara Fatima, KSRP Commandant Thomas Mathew, Southeast Traffic Division ACP Mahadev and Raichur DAR DySP Paramanand, among others serving in various units.
Personnel from the Police Training School in Mysuru, Malamaruti Police Station in Belagavi, CID, Raj Bhavan, KP Agrahara Police Station, KSRP, Vidhana Soudha security, DCRE KGF, Tarikere and Hunsur police stations have also been named for the honour.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru CCB Assistant Commissioner of Police H.N. Dharmendra has been awarded the prestigious President’s Medal for Distinguished Service in recognition of his exceptional and long service.

The medals, announced ahead of Independence Day, honour police officers and personnel for meritorious and distinguished service.
