‘Sexy Durga’, ‘Ozhivudivathathe Kali’ to be screened at New York’s Museum of Modern Art

Saturday announced that two of his films -- 'Ozhivudivathathe Kali'(ODK) and 'Sexy Durga'-- are to be screened at The Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Taking to Instagram, the director said: "I am so happy and excited to share this fantastic news that two of my films, 'Ozhivudivathathe Kali' and 'Sexy Durga' are being projected on the prestigious screens of The Museum of Modern Art, New York."
"This is the second time 'Sexy Durga' is getting such an opportunity and for 'ODK', ironically this is the International premiere of the film after the long seven years of its production."
"This is an absolutely incredible achievement for the film. Seven years is a long time for an indie film from Malayalam to get forgotten as an old film. But 'ODK' is slowly moving out and starting its journey, I hope."
"If you are in New York please try to watch the films. I am sure that the films are not going to disappoint you."
The director went on to add the screening schedules of the films in his post.

Nawazuddin on working with female directors: Female gaze is kinder and sensitive

Nawaz then went on to point out some differences between male and female filmmakers.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui rose to fame with 'Peepli Live' with director Anusha Rizvi. He has worked with Director Debamitra Biswal for 'Motichoor Chaknachoor' , Nawazuddin has taken on a very challenging role of prolific writer 'Manto' in Nandita Das's directorial venture.
He has also worked with Zoya Akhtar in 'Bombay Talkies', an anthology of four short stories that describe how films have an influence on the lives of people from various strata of society.
He also worked on 'Talaash' with Reema Kagti.
Nawaz stated: "I have worked with many renowned female directors and that helped me a great deal. I realised that women look at the world differently, They are far more compassionate and they see beauty in everything."
"For most men, it's often about power and control. That also reflects in our relationships. Men tend to be more territorial and unko adhikaar jatana hai, auraton par bhi. The female gaze is kinder and sensitive. I am trying to get that POV (point of view) right."
On the work front, Nawaz has an interesting line-up of films which includes 'Tiku Weds Sheru', 'Noorani Chehra', and 'Adbhut' among others.

Evolution of a script is true magic, says Aishwarya Rajinikanth

She said: "The evolution of a script is true magic. From the time the pen touches the paper...the first draft, then the second, the third."
"When you think it's ready to be typed, then additions and changes, you think you are ready to print the typed version, when you see the first spiral version of it! "How through time you see the shades of paper and yet you don't feel like throwing a single sheet away. Every time you read it, your work feels new and you want to improve.
"The journey is worth it when you think it's ready to be read...yet the writing never ends and a script can never be stopped writing until the day of shoot! #writerslife #lovemyjob #fridaymood"
Aishwarya, who earlier this year had announced that she parted ways with her husband Dhanush, will be making a return to direction with her maiden Hindi film, 'Oh Saathi Chal'.

Simbu’s request to parents: Don’t pressurise your wards by asking them to marry

During the audio and trailer launch event of his eagerly-awaited upcoming film, 'Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu', helmed by ace director Gautham Vasudev Menon, the actor, while replying to a compliment on being called the 'Most Eligible Bachelor in Kollywood' said: "There is nothing called as Most Eligible Bachelor."
"In life, we cannot go and just marry someone like that. When two people make a decision to be together, they are going to do so for life. We have to respect that. At this time, I would like to request all parents not to torture their children, asking them to get married."
"The pressure that this society exerts has caused several wrong marriages to happen. Let the children live their lives first. Let them see who will be compatible and right for them. Beyond all this, there is a God above who will send the right person at the right time. Until then, waiting in silence is the best thing to do."
Earlier, visuals of a chopper arriving at the venue led to the perception that the actor had made a grand entrance by flying to the venue.
However, Simbu clarified that although the production house had sent him a chopper to come to the venue, he had chosen to come by road.

Rajveer Singh on working with Celesti: She needs to be kept like a child

Rajveer, who is playing the role of Arjun in the show, talked about the screen and off-screen chemistry saying: "As we start a new project, we meet new people, and new energy comes in, so Rajjo is a new fresh energy on the sets."
He said:" As actors, they keep on working and doing the same work for years so we get to know that this would be the limit, he will behave in this way, and his nuances are these."
"But that's not the same with Rajjo, she is fresh so we don't get an idea. Like personally, if I am doing a scene, she surprises me in every scene. I enjoy the surprise of what she is going to do next."
Talking about Celesti, he said: "Another thing which I like about her is that she never takes rehearsals for granted. We want to give the best in every shot, so we sit, we rehearse and we try to give the best shot possible for the audience."
"There are so many fun moments with Celesti. Like sometimes she is not that comfortable while doing stunts and every time she gets injured. I don't know where her mind goes or what she keeps on thinking. So we have to keep on distracting her saying that nothing happened."
He added: "So such kind of tiny memories we have with her that she needs to be kept like a child, saying 'nothing happened', 'it's okay', 'let's do it'."
'Rajjo' airs on Star Plus.

Urmila Matondkar: Proud that I belong to a Marathi theatre

Usha along with actress Ankita Lokhande will be seen attending 'DID Super Moms' during their 'Pavitra Rishta' special episode. Urmila, would be seen talking about her special bond with the veteran actress.
Urmila said: "From the time I have seen Usha Taai here on stage, I have been wanting to take blessings from her. When I was growing up, I watched her perform in theatres and have known her since then. It was the time way before 'Pavitra Rishta' show that we shared a special bond.
"No matter how big and famous we become, it is our upbringing to always take blessings from our elders with meekness. Today, I feel very proud that I belong to a Marathi theatre, because the best of the best, Usha Taai has been one of the most famous names in the industry."
She added that it would be very wrong to say that Usha can only play the character of a selfish and arrogant mother-in-law, which she essayed on 'Pavitra Rishta' starring late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
"Because from the time I didn't know about acting, I have seen her wonderful performances. I have witnessed her giving some amazing performances, roles, and characters that will give you goosebumps."
She added: "And even today, as I am standing in front of her, my legs are shaking, this is the kind of personality and powerhouse of talent Usha Taai is. I am really grateful that I could greet her here in front of everyone on stage today like this."
